North Idaho High School Aerospace is a unique educational program based in Sandpoint, Idaho. We operate off of the time volunteered by our passionate volunteers and generous donations. In addition we have the ACES club which is our student-run club open to students from the northern counties of Idaho, whether in traditional schools or alternative programs. The main focus of ACES is to learn the art and science of building an aircraft. With guidance from experienced, FAA-licensed aircraft mechanics, builders from the EAA Chapter 1441 and other volunteers, students learn blueprint reading, aircraft structures and systems by actually building a real, flyable aircraft. We are passionate about this program and hope to help students from all walks of life achieve success in their aviation endeavors.
It's hard to know what you want to do after high school without any exposure to your options! We offer insight into several career paths including learning about pilot jobs, aircraft maintenance (A&P), aeronautical engineering and much, much more.
FAA Ground School
We offer a classroom experience to prep students for the FAA Knowledge Test for Private Pilot or Sport Pilot. Flight maneuvers, procedures and emergency training are also included. All taught by FAA-Certified Flight and Ground Instructors.
We offer flight training that is affordable, fun, and rewarding. Whether training for a career as a pilot or just for fun, we try to make a unique learning experience.
